On The Road Again

This is interesting...

The Road to Perdition creator Max Allan Collins has been tapped to write and direct two sequels to the 2002 film adaptation of his great book say the folks at Cinematical.

The first sequel, "Road to Purgatory", will follow an older version of Michael Sullivan, Jr. (played by a young Tyler Hoechlin in the original) who has returned from World War II with a new determination to avenge the murder of his dad (Tom Hanks).

His journey leads him to Frank Nitti, whom he is urged to kill on the orders of Al Capone.

A second sequel, entitled "Road to Paradise", will follow Sullivan's story after those events.

Of course I'm waiting for "official" particulars here...But with Collins support I'm behind the notion and I love what Sam Mendes started in '02--Let's see what happens.
