Girl Interrupted

Nicole Kidman stars in a true-life film titled “The Danish Girl.” reports Variety.

Based on David Ebershoff's book about the life story follows Danish painter Einar Wegener(Kidman) who in 1931 became the first person to go through a sex-change operation to become a woman.

Charlize Theron, who had been attached to play Wegener’s wife, the fashion illustrator Gerda Wegener, has left the production.

No reason has been given for Theron's departure, and helmer Tomas Alfredson, ("Let the Right One In") is refusing to let the casting hiccup upset his filming schedule. He tells the trade, "We have been in talks for close to a year, and we are soon going into production."

Lucinda Coxon adapted the script.

Alfredson will shoot 'Girl' shortly before he gets to work on a remake of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.
