The Step Up 3-D trailer has arrived...

Director Jon Chu, who also did 2008's "Step Up 2: The Streets," told

MTV that the pic is really going to be cool.

"It's not the blue and red anymore. It's a different 3-D, totally new style.You gotta get the new ones. They look like shades. ...Dance in 3-D is unlike anything you've seen before, he says.

"I thought it was kind of gimmicky at first, so then the more we rehearsed and the more we saw how much 3-D and dance go together ... it's like a whole new world. It is nuts. Things are flying in the air, especially with b-boys and poppers. This thing is like sitting in your lap when they dance."

Ugh!

The film hits theaters on August 6th
