The Colton Harris-Moore biopic is moving ahead as Barefoot Bandit reportedly signs a $1.3 movie deal with Fox
"Taking Flight: The Hunt for a Young Outlaw" is based upon on an article by Bob Friel called The Ballad of Colton Harris-Moore for Outside Magazine
The story centers on a teenager from the Pacific Northwest who escaped juvenile custody in 2008 and is now a suspect in more than 100 crimes, mostly felonies.
Dubbed 'The Barefoot Burglar', Harris-Moore apparently taught himself how to fly aircraft in order to evade local police, the FBI and Department of Homeland Security His alleged crimes have generally consisted of stealing cars, boats and planes. He was arrested July 11th in the Bahamas as he attempted to flee on a boat.
Dustin Lance Black is writng the pic with Harris-Moore
David Gordon Green was attached to call action Not known if that's still the case...
Harris-Moore will put his earnings toward the $1.4 million he owes as restitution to victims of his two-year crime spree.
"I did things that were not only a violation of law, but also of trust," Harris-Moore said a written statement released by his attorneys. "I can't undo what I did. I can only try to make things better."
Harris-Moore would only sign the deal if his victims would be repaid.
"I am humbled to know I can now help the people I hurt, at least for the financial damage I caused them," Harris-Moore wrote. "I have absolutely zero interest in profiting from any of this and I won't make a dime off it. It all goes to restitution. That's what I insisted on from the beginning and the contract I signed guarantees it."
You certainly don't see this happen at all....
