Affleck Does The Stand Adaptation?

Ben Affleck has been selected (but is not yet signed) to call action for the film adaptation of Stephen King's The Stand says Deadline.

Affleck's attachment is a bit of a surprise since director David Yates amd writer Steve Kloves, who worked on the Potter series were gearing up to reunite for project.as reported back ib August

The novel, first published in 1978 and then revised in 1990, tells a story of good vs. evil after a virus wipes out most of the American population. The survivors end up fighting the Antichrist-like Randall Flagg.

There was that six-hour mini-series adaptation in 1994 while Marvel has recently produced an acclaimed Comic Book adaptation.

When the Potter pals were taking up the task a 3 film arc was planned--no word if that's still the case

King will be involved in some way with the project

Roy Lee will be producing
