Greta Gerwig ("Greenberg," and the upcoming remake of "Arthur") will star in Whit Stillman's dark comedy "Damsels In Distress" reports WWD (via Hollywood Elsewhere)
The story follows a dynamic trio of liberal arts college girls who take in a new student and teach her their own misguided ways of helping people. ways which are used as a coping mechanism for their various failed college romances.
Gerwig will play one of the three girls who aim to "prevent suicides through the powers of 30's song-and-dance numbers."
The pic is Stillman's first film since 1998's The Last Days Of Disco".
It's not for a lack of trying though he has tried to get to work on several projects in the last 12 years but things kept falling apart
Shooting on Distress is expected to kick off soon
