The sex scene between Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson) for the Nov.18th release of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn: Part 1 has caused a stir in weeks past and now it's back in the news.
The studio wanted the film rated PG-13 to keep the The Twilight film series loyal teen audience, and the Motion Picture Association of America quite strict about any kind of nudity or sex - for example the recent news that Shame got an NC-17 rating this week--.TLR contributor Julian Stark wrote an excellent piece about this on his blog....
Dawn got its PG-13 rating this time last month for "disturbing images, violence, sexuality/partial nudity and some thematic elements".
Now, Stewart told Glamour Magazine (via Daily Mail) that the the original version of the scene had to be recut.
"It was very surreal. We [originally] got rated R. They re-cut it...It was so weird, it didn't even feel like we were doing a Twilight film. I was like, 'Bella! What are you doing? Wow! What is happening here?!"
