Iron Man 3 Gets Favreau, Hamilton, More $$

Jon Favreau will be a part of writer/director Shane Black's Iron Man 3 as limo driver Happy Hogan says THR. Soon after The actor Tweeted the photo, last night from the set.



Favreau played the character in the first 2 films in the series--which he also directed.

Meantime Variety reports that former Sunset Beach star Ashley Hamilton has also joined the cast as well.



The story is based on the popular six-issue mini series "Extremis" by Warren Ellis--the film's events take place after The Avengers. The plot involves the spread of a virus through nanobots.

Hamilton will play Jack Taggert, otherwise known as Firepower. In the comics, Taggert is the pilot of an experimental bodysuit designed by the programme, Project: Firepower. Taggert doesn't have his hands on Stark technology for long before wanting to use it against its creator

Robert Downey Jr. Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle Ben Kingsley Guy Pearce Rebecca Hall James Badge Dale  and Chinese superstar Andy Lau also star.

Lastly--Latino Review reports that, following the success of Joss Whedon's "The Avengers", Marvel has decided to bump up the budget of "Iron Man 3" from $140 million to $200 million.
Marvel sees the boffo success of "The Avengers" as the need to 'top themselves'. Thus the extra money comes with the edict- "the crew aren’t being asked to deliver a better Iron Man movie but THE BEST Marvel movie hands down."

Production has begun in Wilmington, North Carolina under the codename "Caged Heat"
