The popular Tekken video game series is getteng another film adaptation according to The Hollywood Reporter-There has already been a 1997 two-part anime series, last year's full-length CG-animated 3D anime flick "Tekken: Blood Vengeance", and Dwight H. Little's 2010 live-action film.
Despite video game series director Katsuhiro Harada dismissing the live-action film, studio CEO Steven Paul says they're moving ahead with a prequel called "Tekken: Rise of the Tournament"
Opening in Japan theatrically in 2010, the film went direct to video in the U.S. Paul hopes the prequel, that Prachya Pinkaew will direct, will get a domestic theatrical release. No deal is in place yet.
