Loads Of Folks Go To Club Cbgb

Malin Akerman will play singer Debbie Harry from Blondie , while Joel David Moore and Julian Acosta are set to play Joey and Johnny Ramone in Randall Miller's biopic "Cbgb" says THR.

The film traces the rise of the famous New York nightclub and its effects on the underground music scene in the late 70's and early 80's--and its founder Hilly Kristal (Alan Rickman)

Actress Stana Katic will appear as Goldie and the Gingerbreads singer Genya Ravan, Richard De Klerk plays the club's soundman Taxi, Josh Zuckerman is playing Punk Magazine founder John Holmstrom, Ryan Hurst is 'Mad Mountain', and Estelle Harris as Hilly’s mother Bertha. Rupert Grint will play Cheetah Chrome, the lead guitarist of short-lived ‘70s punk band The Dead Boys.

Jody Savin and Miller wrote the script.

Savin, Miller, and Brad Rosenberger will produce the film

Production kicks off this time next month in Savannah before moving to New York City.
