"Moon" and "Source Code" director Duncan Jones will call action on and help write a Untitled Biopic of James Bond creator Ian Fleming says Empire Online.
The film focuses on Fleming's younger years as an aimless playboy growing up under the shadow of a famous family, and his experiences in World War II as an intelligence officer in the British Royal Navy that changed his life. It also gave him inspiration for the character of James Bond based on his own exploits, penning twelve 007 novels and two collections of short stories from starting in 1953 until his death in 1964.
The screenplay is based on the Andrew Lycett biography and is the first feature to have the cooperation of the Fleming Estate.
Stuart Fenegan Oliver Simon and Daniel Baur will produce.
Production aims to begin later this year.
James McAvoy was previously linked to play Fleming back in 2009.
