Rupert Grint has landed roles in 2 films reports Variety.
The first is "The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman"
Matt Drake wrote the Black List script which follows a young man named Charlie (Shia Labeouf) who, after the death of his mother, heads to Europe to find himself. There, he meets a girl (Evan Rachel Wood) and falls in love. As it turns out she's the girlfriend of an insanely violent crime boss (Mads Mikkelsen) with a gang of thugs at his disposal.
Grint's role in this one is as yet unknown.
Til Schweiger plays a Serbian gangster and former paramilitary fighter named Darko who runs a Budapest strip club. Melissa Leo has been cast LaBeouf's late mother whose spirit visits to advise him. James Buckley ("The Inbetweeners") is tipped for a supporting role.
The duo behind Little Miss Sunshine, Albert Berger and Ron Yerxa, are set to produce the pic along with The Kite Runner‘s Bill Horberg and Craig J. Flores
Commercial director Fredrik Bond is at the helm as filming on the pic is currently underway in Romania.
The 2nd film for Grint is Randall Miller's "Cbgb" about the famous New York nightclub and its effects on the underground music scene in the late 70's and early 80's.
Grint's Harry Potter film series co-star Alan Rickman was recently cast as club founder Hilly Kristal
Grint will play Cheetah Chrome, the lead guitarist of short-lived ‘70s punk band The Dead Boys.
Shooting hopes to begin in June.
