Just one month away from release and Paramount has delayed the debut of "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" by nine months - from June 29th to March 29th 2013 says Deadline
The postponement will allow the film to undergo a full 3D conversion since the fomat is still going strong as a gimmick internationally, especially in emerging industry markets for Hollywood films like China and Russia.
"It is increasingly evident that 3D resonates with movie-goers globally and together with Paramount, we made the decision to bring fans an even more immersive entertainment experience" says Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner said in a statement.
With 'Joe' vacating the spot, Universal Pictures quickly took to moving up Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane's film directorial debut "Ted " by two weeks from July 13th to the June 29th weekend where it will only have Steven Soderbergh’s male stripper flick Magic Mike as the only wide release.
Ugh! At least Channing Tatum won't have to compete with himself any more as the guy in both Joe and Mike....
