Nikki Reed, Michael Angarano, Jerry Ferrara, Paul Ben-Victor and Chris Diamantopoulos have joined the cast of the heist dramatic thriller Empire State says Deadline.
The film--previously titled "The Sentry Keep"-- is based on the true story of a 1982 NYC armored car company robbery thought at the time to be the largest cash heist in U.S. history. The story follows two childhood friends from Astoria, N.Y., who plan the crime.
Diamantopoulos is the only one with a confirmed role--in which he’ll play a mob boss who realizes that only two people committed a robbery, while everyone else thinks its a group of criminals.
Liam Hemsworth will play one of the friends while Dwayne Johnson plays the NYPD detective out to bring the duo to justice. Emma Roberts will be playing a waitress who has some romantic interest in Hemsworth’s character.
Adam Mazer wrote the script from which Dito Montiel ("Fighting," "The Son Of No One") is calling action.
David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman are producing the film
Production will start on the movie next week for a June 10th, 2013 release.
