Columbia Sequel Updates

The head of Sony's Columbia Pictures division Doug Belgrad recently updated The Hollywood Reporter on a number of sequels and a reboot the studio has in the pipeline.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2

First up he admits "The Amazing Spider-Man" reboot has issues "The section where Rhys Ifans' Ifans' character turns into the Lizard. It took several months to figure out, and the filmmakers cut a bunch of scenes. In software parlance, it required a patch."

He's also not sure if the first film's director Marc Webb will return

"We'd really like him back, but there are obstacles. He has an obligation to Fox."

21 Jump Street 2

Stars Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill are set to return. The plan is to start production by next fall and the studio wants to keep working with Tatum on future projects as well.

Men in Black 4

"We're very pleased with the financial performance of Men In Black 3 , and we believe it is an ongoing franchise. We're going to do [another one], but we don't have clarity yet on how it should be done."

Jumanji

In surprising news he confirms a reboot of the 1995 film about the magical board game is underway. "We're going to try and reimagine Jumanji and update it for the present" he says.
