This film will be quite different from the way it was originally intended as a big-budget action-adventure pic of the Hasbro board game with McG attached to direct.
The story will still use the board game that lets players communicate with the spirit world as its premise--now it will be scaled back
Since its initial development folks like "Fright Night" remake writer Marti Noxon--who got her start working on the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" TV series, Simon Kinberg. Evan Spiliotopoulos and Tron Legacy writers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz have worked on the script in the past.
Producers Brian Goldner, Bennett Schneir, Andrew Form Michael Bay and Brad Fuller will remain involved, while Jason Blum's climbing on board as well.
