Crowe Directs Hicks Biopic

Russell Crowe is set to make his directorial debut on a an as yet Untitled biopic about iconic comedian Bill Hicks says The SMH via The Telegraph

Mark Staufer is writing the script about the stand-up comic who began his career at 16, toured the U.S. and U.K. with his edgy and dark brand of humour for much of the 80's. He died at just 32 from Pancreatic Cancer.

Staufer says production aims to kick off early next year with casting for the role of Hicks to begin shortly.

Crowe is certainly a ringer for Hicks--Might he also play the lead?

Crowe is now at work on Darren Aronofsky's biblical epic "Noah" in Iceland.
