Arcel Charts "Fables" Film

The Hollywood Reporter states that A Royal Affair director Nikolaj Arcel will helm a film adaptation of the Vertigo comic book Fables.

Created by Bill Willingham and Mark Buckingham the action centers on a group of classic characters from children's lit (like Snow White and Cinderella) that get kicked out of their world and form a clandestine community in New York City.

The adapted script is written by Jeremy Slater, who also wrote the upcoming "Fantastic Four" reboot, reboot.

David Heyman and Jeffrey Clifford are producing,

This is the second time Hollywood has attempted to bring "Fables" to the big screen. Warner Bros. originally tried to make a film along with The Jim Henson Company back in 2004, but that attempt didn't even get to the writing stage.
