Mirren Travels "The Hundred-Foot Journey"

Lasse Hallstrom is set to helm the film adaptation of author Richard C. Morais' book "The Hundred-Foot Journey" says Deadline.

The story follows the rivalry between a three-Michelin-star restaurant in France, and the Indian restaurant that resides just 100 feet away. The French restaurant is run by eccentric chef Madame Mallory (Helen Mirren), who reluctantly forms a mentoring bond with a young Indian boy whose family owns the rival restaurant.

Steven Knight wrote the adapted script.

Steven Spielberg, Oprah Winfrey and Juliet Blake will produce.

 Production will begin this fall.
