Oldman Tames A "Flying Horse"

The Wrap reports that Gary Oldman will direct the biopic "Flying Horse" about film pioneer Eadweard Muybridge.

Muybridge was a photographer whose techniques paved the way for the motion picture projector and ultimately the entire film industry.

The film will focus on his being charged with the murder of reputed theater critic Major Henry Larkyns who was having an affair with his wife.

Ralph Fiennes and Benedict Cumberbatch are being eyed to play Muybridge and Larkyns respectively. No deals are in place at present.

Oldman will also the script and might even play the role of district attorney Dennis Spencer who defended Muybridge in his murder trial.

Production hopes to begin by next year.
