Universal Pictures has nixed plans for a March 21st theatrical release of Joe Carnahan's comedy-thriller "Stretch" says THR.
In the film Patrick Wilson stars as a down-on-his luck limo driver trying to pay back a debt when his next passenger turns out to be a nut job (Chris Pine) selling his ledger of criminal associates to the highest bidder.
Brooklyn Decker plays Wilson’s ex-girlfriend, a label-obsessed party girl. Ed Helms will play a fellow chauffeur at Stretch’s company, the ideal driver who is a ghost and shows up as Wilson’s conscience. Jessica Alba, James Badge Dale and Ray Liotta also star.
Producer Jason Blum ("Insidious," "Paranormal Activity")
has been unsuccessful in his efforts to find another
distributor for the film, therefore its fate is now up to Universal where
all "creative options" for releasing it will be explored.
