The action is set within a three-story Victorian mansion which was custom built for the film. The plot follows young Edith Cushing (Mia Wasikowska) who realizes her charming new husband Sir Thomas Sharpe (Tom Hiddleston) is not who he appears to be.
Charlie Hunnam and Jessica Chastain also star in the film.
del Toro and Lucinda Coxon (The Heart of Me, The Eternal Not) rewrote the original script from del Toro and Matthew Robbins that is described as a classic ghost story with a modern twist.
The film will be released on October 16th 2015.
