"Casino Royale" and "Green Lantern" director Martin Campbell was first in line for the job last year after Jon M. Chu left to call action on the upcoming live-action film version of the classic 1980s cartoon and toys "Jem and the Holograms"
The new film will center on "The Rock" Dwayne Johnson’s character Roadblock. Adrianne Palicki is also expected to reprise her role as Lady Jaye.
Jonathan Lemkin ("Shooter," "Devil's Advocate") has been hired to take over the scripting duties from Snow White and the Huntsman writer Evan Daugherty who previously worked on the script.
