Ansel Elgort Is The "Baby Driver" For Edgar Wright

Variety reports that Ansel Elgort (Divergent, The Fault in Our Stars) is in early talks for the lead role in director Edgar Wright's Baby Driver.

The plot sees Elgort as a a talented, young getaway driver who relies on the beat of his personal soundtrack to be the best in the game. But after being coerced into working for a crime boss, he must face the music when a doomed heist threatens his life, love and freedom. The action-comedy is billed as a "collision of crime, action, music and sound".

Elgort, reportedly beat out Logan Lerman (Fury) and John Boyega (Attack the Block, Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens) for the role.

Wright wrote the script as well

Working Title partners Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner are producing the film with Nira Park.

Meanwhile, Wright spoke with Vulture this week about his film adaptation of author Andrew Smith's young adult novel "Grasshopper Jungle".
