Selena Gomez Gets The "Fundamentals Of Caregiving"

Selena Gomez has joined the film adaptation of author Jonathan Evison's novel "The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving" says Deadline.

The story follows the friendship between Ben Benjamin (Paul Rudd) and a young adult named Trevor diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. The two form a bond and gently push each other toward re-engaging in life.

Gomez will play Dot, a sassy teenager who embarks on a road trip with Ben and Trevor.

David Letterman's regular executive producer Rob Burnett wrote the adapted script fron which he will direct.

Donna Gigliotti and James Spies will produce the pic.

Production begins January 22nd in Atlanta.
