Like the 1980 original, the remake follows dancers, singers, actors and artists from auditions to graduation at the New York City High School of Performing Arts.
Mullally will portray a voice instructor; Grammer will play an orchestra maestro; Dutton will portray an acting teacher; and Neuwirth,, will play a dance instructor.
Allen, who made her feature debut in the original film has been cast as the school's principal.
This group actually makes me want to see the film more than I ever did before...Perfect authority figure casting....
Filming starts Wednesday with Kevin Tancharoen calling action.
