Hello Larry

Actor and-filmmaker Larry Fessenden is set to direct "The Orphanage,", the American remake of Juan Antonio Bayona's 2007 well-reviewed Spanish-language supernatural thriller El orfanato says The Hollywood Reporter.

It's all about Laura, who purchases her beloved childhood orphanage with dreams of restoring and reopening the long abandoned facility as a place for disabled children. Once there, Laura discovers that the new environment awakens her son's imagination, but the ongoing fantasy games he plays with an invisible friend quickly turn into something more disturbing. She turns to a group of parapsychologists for help in unraveling the mystery that has taken over the place.

Guillermo del Toro-- who produced the original, will serve in the same capacity and will co-adapt Sergio G. Sánchez's original script with Fessenden. Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson of will produce the remake.

Fessenden has built a career in the horror genre as an actor-helmer--Makes a good pick and if it works as well as the original did....
