Aussie actor Sam Worthington is having a great year --he co-starred in Terminator Salvation with Christian Bale (and stole the show) , he's got the lead in James Cameron's soon-to-be-mega sci-fi epic Avatar, and Clash of the Titans And now he's replacing Tom Cruise in The Tourist opposite Charlize Theron. says The Hollywood Reporter.Based on the 2005 French spy thriller Anthony Zimmer by Jérôme Salle the remake follows an American tourist manipulated by a female Interpol agent in Europe. Theron will play the agent.
Cruise had originally been linked to the project, but had since decided instead to make the James Mangold helmed drama previously titled Wichita with Cameron Diaz, which now has no title but will begin production soon.
Bharat Nalluri is directing the Tourist flick
Shooting on that is scheduled to begin in January.
