Carla Gugino will take over the female lead role in the action thriller Faster says Variety. Tony and Joe Gayton penned the flick where Dwayne Johnson is set to play an ex-con bent on avenging the death of his brother, murdered 10 years earlier when the two were double-crossed during a heist.
Gugino will play the detective in charge of the investigation, a role Salma Hayek was originally set to play before she left due to a scheduling conflict
Billy Bob Thornton, Maggie Grace, Oliver Jackson-Cohen and Moon Bloodgood also star.
Production began under the direction of George Tillman Jr. earlier this month.
