After 3 big screen pieces of American Pie (American Pie, American Pie 2, American Wedding) the franchise has been stuck in direct to video land in a seties of 4 follow-ups with only Eugene Levy doing cameos as a bridge to the theatricals....

According to The LA Times says Universal Pictures is now developing American Pie 4
Writers Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg of Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle fame will write the new Pie sequel.

Seann William Scott, Jason Biggs, Shannon Elizabeth and Alyson Hannigan starred in the first trilogy--It's unclear whether or not any of them wants to--or would return-And how their characters now older fit into the scheme of things.

Liked the trio of original pics--But it's gonna be tough to reunite the cast, get a solid script, and recapture the spirit again
