Command Simulator

The LA Times reports that the classic Atari video game Missile Command is poised to become a film.

"Command" is a game on which players must defend six cities on a distant planet, shown on-screen as six structures spread across the bottom of the playing field. Attacks scroll down from the top, taking the form of glowing lines which mark the direction of travel for the city-destroying bombs. Players must move a cursor around the screen, firing missiles to destroy the falling bombs in mid-flight before they reach planet side

Producer Peter Chernin's on tap to possibly oversee the project.

Ho hum-with fellow producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura successfully optioning the rights to the Atari game Asteroids the video game based film is not going away. Despite the fact that the sub-genre has produced some of the medium's worst pics.
