Borrowed "Bad Boy"

Colin Farrell is in talks to join the romantic comedy "Something Borrowed" says Production Weekly.

Based on Emily Giffin's 2005 debut novel of the same name, the story centers on a single Manhattan attorney (Ginnifer Goodwin). This good-girl gets drunk on her 30th birthday and ends up sleeping with Dexter (Colin Egglesfield), the fiancé of her selfish best friend Darcy (Kate Hudson).

As the mistake blossoms into a full-blown affair, she must decide between her life-long friend and the man of her dreams.

Farrell's role of Marcus is Dex's best friend.

John Krasinski plays the girl's grade-school confidant Ethan.

Luke Greenfield ("The Girl Next Door") is directing from a script by Jennie Urman.

Andrew Kosove, Broderick Johnson, Hilary Swank, Molly Smith, Aaron Lubin and Pamela Schein Murphy will be producing the pic.

It's expected the casting will include the potential sequel based on Giffin's second book "Something Blue".

Shooting kicks off in The Hamptons later this month.
