Sharpened Fangs


John Carpenter has been brought on to direct a film adaptation of John Marks' novel "Fangland " reports Variety.

Marks' take of the Dracula mythos will see Hilary Swank potentially starring as Evangeline Harker, the associate producer of the TV news magazine show "The Hour".

Swank leaves Manhattan and heads to Transylvania to interview Ion Torgu, a dangerous European arms dealer who turns out to be a modern day Dracula.

Mark Wheaton (Friday the 13th) wrote the adapted script

Swank will produce.

The project marks Carpenter's next project after wrapping up work on the upcoming thriller The Ward, his first feature film since 2001's Ghosts of Mars

Marks is a former producer on TV's 60 Minutes
