Zach Galifianakis is said to be in negotiations to star in the long-gestating remake of ""The Incredible Mr. Limpet" says The Los Angeles Times.
The late great Don Knotts starred in the 1964 original, which centered on, an otherwise bland man who transforms into a talking fish. He soon becomes a World War II hero when he helps spot and thwart enemy warships for the Allies.
The film was a live action-animated hybrid (like "Mary Poppins" and "Bedknobs and Broomsticks), while this new version will probably rely on CG animation with the live-action.
Robin Williams and Jim Carrey were among those who've been previously attached to the project.
Kevin Lima ("Enchanted") was hired to direct last year.Akiva Goldsman, Bill Gerber, Paula Weinstein and James Lassiter are producing the pic.
