Quick Clash For Cash

Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures are moving forward with plans for a sequel to their recent "Clash of the Titans" remake at breakneck speed says The Los Angeles Times.

They want to begin shooting Clash of the Titans 2 as early as January

Jonathan Liebesman ("Battle: Los Angeles," "Darkness Falls") the top contender to direct. He would replace Louis Leterrier.

Variety says that David Leslie Johnson and Dan Mazeau will write the screenplay.

Johnson wrote last summer's Orphan, and Mazeau's worked on scripts for Jonny Quest and The Flash.movie.

Despite a luke warm reception, 'Titans' is one of the year's biggest earners with a $486.8 million worldwide haul thus far from a relatively modest $125 million budget.

The plan includes to properly shoot the pic and part of the reason for the hurry is to lock in star Sam Worthington. The Aussie actor gets to work on the "Avatar" sequel which will likely shoot sometime in the second half of 2011.
