Right Man, Right Job

After weeks of wrangling Deadline reports that Peter Jackson has decided to direct both "The Hobbit: Part 1 and The Hobbit: Part 2

Since Guillermo del Toro's exit Jackson has seemed the most obvious choice to take over--denials aside

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's financial difficulties hang over the films, but with Jackson onboard officially as helmer the case will no doubt be made to MGM's owners to free up the necessary funds for the back-to-back shoot in New Zealand which would kick off at the very end of this year--most likely

Jackson and his writing/producing partners Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens, have apparently scheduled a trip to London and Los Angeles in early July to continur casting.
