Matthew McConaughey and Emile Hirsch will star in the black comedy "Killer Joe" says The Hollywood Reporter.
The story has a drug-dealing brother (Hirsch) and sister plot the death of their mother for the insurance money and hire "Killer Joe" Cooper (McConaughey), a cop and contract killer to do the deed.
William Friedkin best known for The Exorcist, The French Connection, is directing the film, from a script by multi-award-winning writer Tracy Letts
Scott Einbinder and Nicolas Chartier will produce.
McConaughey and Hirsch should make a cool on screen duo with whomever they get to play the sister...What's more fascinating is the notion of Friedkin doing a comedic film.
Filming kicks off November 8th in New Orleans.
