A Time To Convict

Matthew McConaughey will play district attorney Danny Buck Davidson in  Richard Linklater's black comedy Bernie says both the Dallas News and Production Weekly.

Based on a true story of Berhardt "Bernie" Tiede, Jack Black stars as a small-town Texas funeral home director whom befriends a wealthy widow (Shirley MacLaine), murders her and stores her in her own freezer.

Rip Torn also stars

Skip Hollandsworth who wrote the original 1998 article about the real life case for Texas Monthly, co-wrote the script with Linklater.

Linklater and McConaughey have worked together twice before on the 1993 comedy classic Dazed and Confused and then again  in 1998 on the not so good The Newton Boys Let's hope this is better than "Boys"

Filming is scheduled to begin this fall in Austin and Bastrop
