Gloria Stuart - the longtime Hollywood actress best known for her role as the elder Rose in
James Cameron's "
Titanic" - has died--at 100.
She passed away in her sleep in the evening Sunday September 26th, in the bed she had built decades earlier out of two life size merry go round horses.
Stuart was a Hollywood beauty who starred in B-movies as well as some higher-profile pics such as
The Invisible Man,
Busby Berkeley's
Gold Diggers of 1935 Here Comes the Navy.” and two
Shirley Temple movies,
Poor Little Rich Girl and
Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm.
She received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2000. and last appeared on the big screen in
Wim Wenders'
Land of Plenty in 2004.
