The folks at Latino Review report that Kate Beckinsale may work opposite Mark Wahlberg in the pic Contraband
An English-language remake of Óskar Jónasson's 2008 Icelandic thriller "Reykjavik-rotterdam", the plot centers on a security guard and former alcohol smuggler who is tempted back into illicit business by a dubious friend after encountering financial problems.
Aaron Guzikowski, the writer behind 2009 Blacklist spec script Prisoners, is writing the script.
The original film's producer/star Baltasar Kormákur will direct the remake.
Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner are producing.
