Charles Matthau, son of acting great Walter Matthau, will direct the film adaptation of author Elmore Leonard's comedy crime thriller "Freaky Deaky" according to Screen Daily.
The story follows two former lovers and bomb-making anarchists who reunite to steal millions from a now-wealthy accomplice they're convinced framed them. Unfortunately they draw the attention of police and a bomb squad.
Meantime Deadline New York reports that actor William H. Macy will portray Woody Ricks, an alcoholic millionaire who has an affinity for show tunes, showgirls and avoiding explosions.
Kirk D'Amico and Tom Ortenberg will executive produce the pic
Filming kicks off early next year.
