Ryan Goes North So Leo Can Be Great

Ryan Gosling is in negotiations to replace Leonardo DiCaprio in the political drama "Farragut North" says  Deadline.



Beau Willimon has adapted his own off-Broadway play based upon his own experiences working on Howard Dean's 2004 presidential campaign.

Set in Des Moines, Iowa just before the Democratic caucus, the story revolves around political manipulator Stephen Myers who uses dirty tactics to get his candidate a nomination

Chris Pine performed the role on stage last year. At last report Evan Rachel Wood and Marisa Tomei were being sought after to co-star in the pic

Shooting may start as early as February.

DiCaprio was attached to star when the project was originally in prepped back in 2007,

Jake Gyllenhaal was then circling the role at one point.

George Clooney co-wrote the script and will both direct and produce the feature which he is independently financing.


Speaking of Leo--He is seemingly going to play Jay Gatsby, while Tobey Maguire is Nick Carraway and Amanda Seyfried could be Daisy Buchananin in the latest adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's literary classic tale The Great Gatsby says Production Weekly via their Twitter feed
