The pic would take the world famous musical--based on Victor Hugo's book--and make it sing once again. The story follows Jean Valjean (Jackman), who is on the run during the French Revolution from his nemesis, Inspector Javert played by Crowe.
Helena Bonham Carter is in talks to lend her voice as well. Anne Hathaway is said to be on the list to play the role of Fantine
The script for this adaptation was penned by William Nicholson, which Cameron Mackintosh will produce.
The pic is now set to hit theaters on December 7th, 2012, just in time for Oscar season
