"The Wolverine" Gets Big Bads And More

SuperHeroHype, THR and Variety have stories on casting of the super hero sequel "The Wolverine" including 2 bad guy roles.

The script initially written by Christopher McQuarrie--then reworked by Mark Bomback--is set mostly in Japan and based on the great mini-series by Frank Miller and Chris Claremont. The sequel will find our steel clawed hero (Hugh Jackman) going toe to toe with the Silver Samurai.

Will Yun Lee will play Harada, aka. The Silver Samurai - a crime lord's illegitimate son with an electrified suit of armor. The other is Brian Tee ("Grimm") as Noburo Mori, a corrupt justice minister about to marry the crime lord's daughter (who is Logan's love interest).

Also cast are Hiroyuki Sanada ("Lost," "The Last Samurai") as Shingen, Hal Yamanouchi ("Push") as Yashida, and Tao Okamoto and Rila Fukushima as Mariko and Yukio.

James Mangold will direct the pic which should begin shooting in Sydney Australia  as soon as Jackman finishes Tom Hooper's (The King's Speech) adaptation of "Les Misérables". The film has a July 26th 2013 release date.
