Thomas Dekker is in talks for the lead role in the remake of the 1980 musical film Fame says The Hollywood Reporter.
Dekker is playing Marco, a working-class kid with great acting skill who is competing with thousands of other hopefuls to get into and survive an elite New York public high school for the arts.
Allison Burnett updates the screenplay.
Director and choreographer Kevin Tancharoen will call action on the $25 million project.
Dekker's TV gig "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" is not doing so well in the ratings...I hope it survives...It's worth a look...I guess TD is not taking any chances
Shooting on Fame starts in February for a September 25th 2009 release.
