A Long Way Off...

Out talking up 17 Again--Zac Efron tells the gang at Moviehole that he'd be keen on doing a live-action "Jonny Quest." film with “Race To Witch Mountain” director Andy Fickman and star Dwayne Johnson....

"Yeah, Yeah… it’s a great idea; it’d be very fun" he says.

"It’s a long, long process. It’s so hard when people start leaking titbits. They’re very, very early on [with it] –not that it won’t happen happen, it’s just early."

I still say an older Quest is the wrong way to go--beyond that though--We interrupt this Zac-centric post...with news that Fickman has just been set to helm the family adventure film "Monster Attack Network" for Disney says Variety.

The 2007 graphic novel by Adam Freeman and Marc Bernardin focuses on a team of first-responders who guard the citizens of Lapuatu, a Pacific island that would be a paradise except for frequent attacks by giant monsters that rise from the sea.

Scott Elder and Josh Harmon will adapt the graphic novel into an FX-heavy tentpole built around an elite government agency's resolve to protect America's coasts from huge, rampaging monsters.

Now back to Efron--Another film he's been linked to for quite a ling time-- the "Footloose" remake, is similarly a long way off.

"People legitimately said to me today, ‘So Footloose is coming out, right?’ I’m like ‘No. The script is coming out’."
