Penélope Cruz is in early negotiations to work with Italian director Sergio Castellitto on his next film--Venuto al Mondo ("Into the World") reports Variety.
The Sarajevo-set drama about a single mother is based on a novel by Castellitto's wife, Margaret Mazzantini.
A similar situation happened in 2004 with Castellitto's "Non ti muovere (Don't Move)" which gave Cruz her first career-making role.
Cruz was last seen in Woody Allen's "Vicky Cristina Barcelona," for which she won an Oscar and has Pedro Almodóvar's "Abrazos rotos, Los" (Broken Embraces) on the horizon.
Shooting on "World" will likely begin next year.
