Ordained

Paul Bettany is in negotiations to star in his 2nd comic book based film in a row- the horror western adaptation of Priest says The Hollywood Reporter.

Set in a world ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampire, the Korean series follows a warrior priest (Bettany) who turns against the church to track down a murderous band of vampires who have kidnapped his niece.

Gerard Butler was originally set to play the lead but obviously, he is out now. Bettany will be re-teaming with his Legion director, Scott Stewart

Cory Goodman (The Brood) wrote the screenplay.

"I knew the moment I saw Stewart's first cut of 'Legion' that Bettany was Priest and so I mentioned it to him immediately," Screen Gems Studios president Clint Culpepper said.

Bettany showed real dark intensity for his role in The Da Vinci Code--He may end up a perfect pick to fight vamps here
