Maximum Attitude

Catherine Hardwicke is in talks to develop and direct a film adaptation of author James Patterson's young-adult fantasy series Maximum Ride prints The Hollywood Reporter.

The five-volume series chronicles six teens, known as the Flock, who are genetically altered so that they are part human and part bird. Learning to fly, they escape the laboratory where they have been housed and are pursued by a pack of creatures called the Erasers that are part human and part wolf.

"Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer co scribe Don Payne is adapting a screenplay. Ari Arad and Steven Paul will produce.

Let's hope Hardwicke has a better post film journey than she did adapting Twilight...
