Four Goodness Sake

Hours after official word hit that Disney would be acquiring Marvel-Variety reports that Fox is indeed planning a Fantastic Four reboot...

Akiva Goldsman--the screenwriter behind Batman Forever, the dreadful Batman and Robin, I Am Legend-- has been hired to oversee the reboot as producer Michael Green, (TV's Heroes and the co-writer of the Ryan Reynolds-starring " The Green Lantern.") will write the new script.

Fantastic Four and 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer--both helmed by Tim Story made about $300 Million each worldwide...but got drubbed by critics (I liked 'em!)

Talk began in March of this year of a possible reboot and since Fox has a licensing agreement with Marvel controlling the "FF" movie franchise in perpetuity - under the condition that it continues making the films this is not a shock really.

It's not yet clear whether Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis who starred in the previous two films, would return. But...If the project is tagged as a reboot that seems unlikely.

Stay Tuned...
